Summary: A Union meeting at Creagerstown at the home of Mr. Otto was well attended. M. Eichelberger was the chairman. Speeches were given by Jno. A. Koons, Grayson Eichelberger, Lt. Col. Hobbs, Master James Murdock and S. C. Jones. A flag was made for the Union Pole by the Misses Otto. Those canvassing for Bell and Everett are diligent. There are large gatherings when Union meetings are called in the Creagerstown District.

Summary: Local military groups will participate in a parade in honor of anniversary of the Battle of Yorktown. The groups include: Linganore Mounted Guard under Capt. Bevans, Manor Mounted Guard under Capt. Chiswell, Liberty Riflemen under Capt. Sappington and 2 or 3 other groups from outside the county plus "United Brothers of the War of 1812." Lt. Col. Ulysses Hobbs is in command of the entire military parade. Major Gen. Kimmel and his staff will review the participants.
