Summary

Union signal stations have been erected on Sugarloaf Mountain and south of Frederick City.

Transcript

SIGNAL STATIONS – The art of signaling appears to have been carried to the furthest reach of attainment in the armies of the Union. By its means intelligence and orders are conveyed with telegraphic rapidity and precision. A signal Station has been erected on the highground South of the city, and communications are made day and night with a nother on the Sugar Loaf mountain 12 miles distance, and thence with Washington.
