Seizure of Rebel Flags
Summary
Reprinted from The Examiner: A RI Regiment, while travelling through Frederick Co., stopped at the tavern of John Hagan and tore down the secession flag he had hanging there. Hagan then accused the captain of one of the RI companies of theft. The paper reports a series of incidents in Frederick involving insults to the federal troops, discovery of a Secession flag in the office of the Herald and the seizing of Secession flags from some Frederick homes.
