LEITERSBURG REPUBLICAN MEETING – According to previous notice the Republicans of District No. 9 held a meeting to ratify the nominations of Gen. U. S. Grant and Schuyler Colfax. The meeting was unusually large, attentive and earnest. The loyal men of that district are true as steel and ready for the contest. The meeting was eloquently addressed by Hon. Chas. Lee Armour and Peter Negley, Esq. The best feeling prevails and a good report may be looked for from that fine district. The Leitersburg Band was in attendance and discoursed stirring music, adding much to the pleasure of the gathering.
