Summary
The Valley Register endorses the position taken by the Hagerstown Herald which says - if there was a way to save the Union without shedding blood, Union men would do it, but the "peace Disunionists" do not want to preserve the Union but to recognize the Southern Confederacy. They say it is the only way to restore "harmony." "Our town and county has a great many [Disunionists], who are busily engaged in distilling this kind of poison and diffusing it among loyal people." Beware of these Disunionists.
