Summary

A letter from "F" in Urbana. He describes a public speaking event in Urbana in which support was urged for Bell and Everett as the only possible candidates to save the country. Long speeches by John A. Lynch, Esq. and J. M. Kilgour, Esq. Lynch said that all parties should unite against the Black Republicans. He blamed the Democratic party for the current crisis and said the Bell/Everett ticket "presented the only possible rallying point promising the slightest chance for success."
