False Dispatch

Summary

At Copperhead meeting in Frederick while Gen. Heath was addressing audience, Col. Maulsby received a dispatch saying old Commissioners and Mayor Chapman of Baltimore were under arrest and martial law proclaimed in Baltimore. This quickly shown to be false. It was new commissioners and mayor, but Maulsby did not make correction and listeners went home misinformed.
