MAJOR GENERAL KIMMELL – His Excellency Governor Hicks has appointed Hon. Anthony Kimmell, of this county, Major General of the Fourth Division of Maryland Militia. His commission is dated March 28th 1860. The Fourth Division consists of the Second, Ninth, and Eleventh Brigades. The Second Brigade, under command of Brig. Gen. Thomas J. McKaig, is composed of the 8th, 10th, 24th, and 54th Regiments, in Washington county, and 50th Regiment in Allegany county. – The Ninth Brigade, under command of Brig. General James M. Coale, is composed of the 16th, 20th, 28th and 47th Regiments of Frederick County. The Eleventh Brigade, under command of Brig. Gen. Hugh Ely, is composed of the 7th, 15th, 36th, 41st, and 46th Regiments, of Baltimore county. The First and Second Regiments of the 1st Regimental Cavalry District, are also attached to the Fourth Division.
