Summary
Letter to the editor from "A Boy in Blue" describes coming across a deserted store near "Coal (sic) Harbor" and the Confederate capital of Richmond. The store, owned by Brown and Pusley (sp?), was empty, but business papers were found scattered about and they showed that nine-tenths of the goods sold at the store were alcohol, mostly whiskey. The author of the letter gives some examples of orders sent to the firm and talks about the "spirit of Democracy that poured at the tapsters call from the oaken casks..."
