Antietam Cemetery
Summary
Members of the Pennsylvania legislature address the issue of whether money from that state will be given to the Board of Trustees of Antietam Cemetery to bury Confederate dead in the same cemetery with Union dead. Gov. Geary has withheld the appropriation of money to bury Rebel dead. The legislators made a resolution to follow the lead of Geary and not spend the state appropriation. Some questions arose among the legislators, but in the end the resolutions were passed with Republicans voting in favor and Democrats against.
