Union Orphan Home

Summary

Description of an orphanage in Baltimore which now houses about 80 children of fallen Union soldiers. The pensions do not cover all that the children need and contributions are necessary. Devoted women help with the institution "which is a model in the character and conduct of the children and the success which meets its endeavors to train them for future good and usefulness." The citizens of Baltimore have borne the burden of maintenance until now, but help from the counties is needed. Contributions of any kind of food may be given to Mr. Albert Small of Hagerstown who will send them on.
