Summary
The paper urges voters not to support Democrats up for election on November 5th and recounts what rebel supporters and troops did during the period 1862-1864. Farmers and merchants should remember what they lost or had stolen from them. Men running for office as Democrats were directly or indirectly involved in what was inflicted on Washington County by the Rebels. It is estimated that $500,000 worth of property was destroyed or carried off by the rebel army. Mention is also made of what Union soldiers suffered during imprisonment.
