Summary

The Herald and Torch Light responds to an editorial in The Mail which asserts that while free association of whites and blacks is fine, government-enforced association is 'sinister.' "The truth of the whole matter is, the Mail occupies the common ground of all traitors and pro-slavery men, namely that negroes have no rights at all."
