Fracas

Summary

A brawl among soldiers occurred at the corner of N. Market and West Third Streets which was caused by "Captain Whiskey." It originated in Christian Eckstine's drinking saloon. Eckstine was arrested by Maj. Baugher, Provost Marshal, and his saloon permanently closed as it has long been a nuisance in the neighborhood. The soldiers were also arrested.
