Death of Capt. Prather
Summary
"Capt. S. Gideon Prather, of Clear Spring in this county, died at the residence of Prof. Winchester in Frederick city on Tuesday the 15th inst." Died of "inflammation of the brain" at age 29 yrs, 6 mos., 25 days. Was Capt. Of Clear Spring Infantry of the 1st Regt. of the MD Home Brigade "now stationed at Frederick..." His command accompanied him to Clear Spring for burial.
