Summary
Editor of the Hagerstown Mail, Daniel Dechert, "released by the Government and returned to his home on Saturday evening last after an absence of some six weeks." Reported by "The Baltimore Sun." Also state "that the Government offered Dr. Macgill his liberty, provided he would take the oath of allegiance, but that he refused to do so, and remains in its custody at Fort Lafayette."
