Death of a Sharpsburg Soldier

Summary

"…John Marrow, of Sharpsburg in this county [Washington], was accidentally killed at Frederick last week." Member of Capt. Cronise's Company, which "went to Frederick to join the Home Brigade. Musket of his comrade, Augustus Banford, misfired "the ball entering his breast and coming out of his back. He was 21 years old, youngest of 4 brothers all in the Home Brigade. Escorted home to Sharpsburg by 24 men.
