"In pursuance of notice given by the Union Central Committee of Washington County, the Union men of District No. 15 met at the hotel of Mr. Thomas Corbett, (Indian Springs,) on Saturday 14th inst." Motion of T. J. Mason, Lancelot Jacques appointed President, Denton G. Gehr, Secretary. "appointed J.C. Dowler, J.T. Mason and Denton Jacques a committee to report the names of ten delegates to represent Dist. No. 15 in the County Convention, to be held in Hagerstown, August 21. 10 delegates named in article. Voted on nominations for Magistrates [3 named], Constables [2 named], Road Supervisor [1 named]. John T. Mason offered 3 resolutions in support of the Union and the Constitution. Joseph J. Bishop offered 3 additional resolutions - one referencing the "suspension of the writ of [habeas corpus]" [scan incomplete]
