A Fatal Homicide
Summary
Last Friday three soldiers from the 1st MD assaulted J.M. Martin of Hagerstown, who stabbed one of the soldiers, James McLeary of Co. A, who subsequently died. Martin surrendered to the provost marshal, but testimony showed he acted in self-defense.
