County Convention
Summary
At the Aug. 5 (1861) Union County Convention, Joseph F. Davis, Peter Negley, John Reichard, Elias Davis, David Smith and A.C. Hildebrand were elected delegates to the State Convention. Delegates were required to sign a written pledge to support the war to suppress the rebellion. Addresses were given by J.V.L. Findley and J.D. Bennett.
