Harper's Ferry - A View from the Maryland Heights

Reprinted from New York Herald are the observations of a man who climbed Maryland Heights overlooking Harpers Ferry. He described abandoned Confederate quarters and stockades on the mountaintop, including the headquarters of Bradley T. Johnson of Frederick, and the ruins of property that the southern troops had destroyed in the town prior to their retreat.
