An Affray
Summary
Last Wednesday a half dozen Virginia troops crossed the river at McCoy’s Ferry and attempted to take the ferryboat. Several members of Clear Spring’s Home Guard had been secured to protect the boat and fired on the party who had reached the middle of the river with the boat. The Virginians jumped from the boat, which was recovered by the Marylanders, and swam back to Virginia.
