Union Meeting at Clear Spring

Summary

On April 20, 1861 a Union meeting was held in Clear Spring to select twenty delegates to represent the district in the April 23 County Convention in Hagerstown. H.W. Dellinger chaired the meeting, with Dr. Jones and James Dorrance as vice presidents and Wm. H. Brays, secretary. Dr. Hugh M. Laney, Lewis P. Firey [sic; Fiery] and Col. H.W. Dellinger gave addresses. The names of the twenty delegates chosen are listed.
