Summary
At a Feb. 16, 1861 Union meeting in Rohrersville, a 100 foot Union pole was raised with a streamer bearing the motto “The Union shall be preserved.” Elias E. Rohrer was appointed chair and J.E. Mullendore, secretary. N.D. Tobey and Rev. Jonathan Tobey gave addresses. Among its resolutions, it pledged to oppose all attempts to call a state convention, endorsed the policy of Gov. Hicks and supported measures designed to address national difficulties.
