Copperhead Mass Meeting

Summary

The mass meeting of the “Copperhead faction” of the county was successful, numbering 1,932 persons, although only about half of those in attendance were adult men, some of whom were from outside the county. Speeches were given by Gen. Heath, Frank Gallagher of Baltimore and F.J. Nelson. Drunkenness was observed among the attendees.
