The Mass Meeting

Summary

The Unconditional Union Mass Meeting which took place in Frederick last Wednesday was the largest political meeting ever held in the city. The procession numbered at least three thousand persons, led by Mobberly’s Brass Band, and was three miles in length. Col. Charles E. Trail was chairman of the meeting and speeches were given by Senator J.A.J. Creswell, Jno. Cessna of Pennsylvania, Congressman Francis Thomas, Robert Bruce and Edward McPherson of Pennsylvania.
