The Graves of Union Soldiers
Summary
Based on information provided by Capt. J. McF. Lyeth, who lives near the battlefield, it was previously written that the remains of many Union soldiers buried on the Monocacy Battlefield were being ploughed up by those farming the land. A government agent visited the region recently, however, and determined that no remains have been ploughed up for the last year. In only two instances is it known for certain that bodies have been ploughed over.
