Military Parade at Point of Rocks

Summary

The Loudoun Brigade, Capt. Shreeve, and the Mounted Guard, Capt. Chiswell, met at Point of Rocks for a military parade. Spectators came from surrounding Maryland and from Virginia to witness the reunion of the sons of Maryland and the old Dominion. The Leesburg Brass Band led the groups into town, then to a prepared parade field where both companies acquitted themselves well. Afterwards, dinner was served in grand style in the hotels, speeches were made by John Ritchie and J. Edwin Young of Leesburg. Then Capts. Shreeve and Chiswell were honored.
