Summary
(First part is unreadable) An infantry corps of 78 men from Baltimore under Capt. William T. Faithful have been mustered in and 20 or 25 of Capt. Walter Saunders' well-drilled Independent Riflemen have taken the oath and the rest expected to be mustered in today, although a few still needed to fill ranks. The 2nd Regiment forming at Cumberland is almost filled and recruiting for a 3rd Regiment under Col Wm. Louis Schley is recruiting in Baltimore.

HOME BRIGADE – The First Regiment of the Maryland Home Brigade, which is under Thomas[?], has been authorized for ___ is now neatly made up. We ____ last week the particulars _______ which had been constructed to ___ for that ___. Since then, a Cavalry company from Brandenburg, under command of Capt. Horner, another Cavalry company from Baltimore city, under command of Capt. Carll[?], and an Infantry corps of 78 fine looking men, from Baltimore, under Capt. Wm. T. Faithful, have been mustered in, and of the tenth and last company, some twenty or twenty five of Capt. Walter Saunders’ well-drilled “Independent Riflemen” have taken the required oath of fidelity, and we hear that the rest of them expect to be mustered in to-day. This will complete the organization of the First Regiment of the “Home Brigade,” though a few more men are required to fill up the ranks of some of the companies. The Second Regiment, of this brigade, which is forming at Cumberland, is also nearly full; and the Third Regiment under Col. Wm. Louis Schley, is recruiting at Baltimore.
